LOUISE's STORY

Meet our founder

After years of waking up feeling drained, especially with two young children, I truly believed that I would never again start the day feeling refreshed and raring to go. Disrupted sleep, nighttime bathroom visits, dry mouth… I was officially middle-aged and there was nothing I could do about it.

In my mid-40s I started teeth-grinding and it was then that I decided things had to change. I saw an airway dentist and myofunctional therapist (two worlds I never knew existed), learnt how hormonal changes can lead women to start mouth breathing, and discovered the benefits of nose breathing when you tape your mouth at night. “This is it,” I thought. “Dreamland is just around the corner.”

Not quite. I tried various mouth tapes but none were right. Most were aimed at men who snore. Others were too adhesive. And some covered the entire mouth which felt intimidating. I wanted something gentle and supportive.

It felt like something had to be done to help more women going through this. Perhaps because I know, and appreciate, how much a proper night’s rest can transform my next morning - physically, mentally, and emotionally - I decided to create kip&glow. Beauty sleep products that make nose breathing a breeze.
